School rape case: Karnataka Home Minister blames media for tarnishing Bengaluru's image

Papers are abuzz with speculations about the forth-coming reshuffle-cum-expansion in the Narendra Modi govt. The Times of India writes that the move is likely to take place on Monday, with Goa Chief Minster Manohar Parrikar (who held a meeting with the Prime Minister),  Former Minister Suresh Prabhu and BJP general secretary Jagat Prakash Nadda, likely to be accommodated in the new cabinet.
The Hindu speaks of  big economic reforms on the anvil.  Speaking at the "India Economic Summit" organized by the World Economic Forum and the Confederation of India Industry, CII Finacne Minister Mr. Jaitley said the reforms could include sale of loss-making PSU's,  easier norms for land acquisition and labor law reforms.
The Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan-Yojana has, so far managed to bring over 5000 crore rupees into the formal banking system, with close to 7 crore account-holders having started depositing cash into their accounts writes Times of India.
Defence Minister Arun Jaitley has said that "Pakistan must draw a red line if it wants talks", and to make a conscious choice whether it wants to talk to the Govt of India or to those who want to break India says Hindutan Times.
Hindustan Times reports that agricultural Scientists have questioned the credibility of a new study which states that India's wheat production has fallen by 50 per cent since 2010 because of a rise in air pollution. Senior officials have rubbished the claim and termed it 'pure western media sensationalism'.
Indian Express reports that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has adopted village Jayapura, 25 km from Varanasi, as part of a Govt initiative under which each Member of Parliament will 'adopt' a village.
And finally, Mail Today carries a splendid portrait-photograph of former Prime Minster Manmohan Singh and his wife - upon being awarded one of Japan's top national awards - for his significant contribution to Indo-Japanese ties.
