Linking his resignation to the growing clout of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi in the party, the Asian Age writes "Modi compels BJP to throw out rival Joshi". The Mail Today suggests that this move "paves way for Modi to lead the party in 2014 Lok Sabha elections".
IIT Kanpur's decision to hold a separate entrance exam from 2013 rather than follow the HRD Minister Kapil Sibal's recent announcement of a single entrance test for all undergraduate engineering courses is highlighted in all the papers. "IIT Kanpur defies Sibal's one-test plan, says will set own Joint Entrance Examination" reports the Pioneer.
Many papers report of a new textbook cartoon row regarding a cartoon in the class 12 political science textbook of the NCERT.
