India has overtaken China to become the world's largest importer of arms, a Sweden-based think tank says.
A report by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (Sipri) says India accounted for 9% of all weapons imports between 2006 and 2010.
India will continue to be to the leading arms importer in the coming future, the report adds.

Former Congress parliamentarian Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy on Saturday formally launched YSR Congress Party and unveiled its flag at Idupulapaya in his home district of Kadapa in Andhra Pradesh.
Accompanied by his mother Vijayalakshmi, former legislator, and other family members, the young leader launched the party at the grave of his father and late chief minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, who was popularly known by his initials YSR.
An explosion at a nuclear power station tore down the walls of one building today as smoke poured out. Japanese officials said they feared the reactor could melt down following the failure of its cooling system in the earthquake and tsunami.
It was not clear if the damaged building housed the reactor. Tokyo Power Electric Co., the utility that runs the Fukushima Dai-ichi plant, said four workers were injured but details were not immediately available.
