On  the tense situation in Kashmir, the Hindustan Times  leads with "Government, Hurriyat may talk in renewed peace push". 'Army will abide by government peace plan'; 'But no unprovoked attacks will go without response'  the Hindu quotes Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
"In big relief to Centre , Supreme Court OKs SC/ST quotas for promotions" is the lead headline in the Times of India. "Uphill task on quota move for government as law requires 'quantifiable data' as  'backwardness'  proof" writes the Tribune.
"Tharoor to be tried for abetment to suicide" reports the Pioneer of Congress leader, Shashi Tharoor". The Tribune states "Tharoor summoned in July as accused in Pushkar death case".
"Centre plans to make discoms pay for load-shedding" from the next fiscal, the Times of India cites Power Minister, R. K. Singh.
"Pay hefty fine for extra load on Rail; Railways to charge 6 times penalty for excess baggage in trains, strictly enforce old rules" is the lead in the Pioneer.
