The gruesome killing of Kashmiri journalist Shujaat Bukhari by unidentified gunmen in Srinagar gets major attention across newspapers today.
"Top Kashmir editor shot dead in Srinagar attack" headlines the Hindustan Times, calling the editor of Rising Kashmir, a fiercely independent and courageous voice. The DNA in its headline says "Government in fix over ceasefire in J&K, terrorists aren't".
Highlighting the Prime Minister's concern over Maoist violence, the DNA writes "In Chattisgarh, PM Modi sings tune of development to curtail violence".
On the administrative crisis in Delhi, the Pioneer reports, "Kejriwal writes to PM, seeks his intervention to end officers' 'strike'".

And finally, the Times of India reports that the alcohol ban imposed in Bihar in 2016 has turned the state into a land of milk and honey! The paper cites 2 state-sponsored studies that indicate drinkers in the state have diverted their alcohol spends to consumer goods.
