Money Of Indians In Swiss Banks Rises 50% To Over Rs. 7,000 Crore

The plane crash in suburban Mumbai involving a chartered aircraft dominates front page headlines. "Mumbai plane crash kills 5; 2 pilots, 2 engineers, watchman on ground die in maintenance flight tragedy" reports the Tribune.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi's address to a gathering after laying the foundation stone of the Sant Kabir Academy in Maghar in Uttar Pradesh is prominently noticed on the front pages. The Indian Express writes, "PM targets SP-BSP alliance : They worry about bungalows, not poor".
US Ambassador to the United Nation Nikki Haley's visit to India is keenly tracked in the press. In the backdrop of India's oil imports from Iran, The Times of India writes on its front page "Haley talks tough on Iran import curbs, India may fall in line".
On the recent killing of Kashmiri journalist Shujaat Bukhari, the Hindu quotes the Jammu and Kashmir police as saying "Lashkar -e -Toiba killed Bukhari".
The papers report an interesting statistic in the backdrop of the government's continuing clampdown on suspected black money stashed abroad. The DNA writes "7000 crore rupees and counting, Indian money in Swiss banks up 50%".
All the papers take note of the fall in the value of the Rupee against the US Dollar. "Rupee hits all time low of 69.09 per dollar on oil prices, fears of US-China trade war".
