WhatsApp Rumours Claim One More Life In Telangana

Faulty EVMs hit bypolls, Sushma Swaraj talking tough on terror and shut down of Sterlite plant in Tamil Nadu dominates the front pages of newspapers today. The Hindustan Times says, "Glitches in VVPAT's hit bypolls, parties knock on EC's doors," adding "poll officials blame heat, panel denies malfunctioning." "EVM failures ail by polls, as parties exchange barbs, EC firefights," writes The Mail Today.
Almost all papers quote the External Affairs Minister, Sushma Swaraj "Terror and talks can't go together," writes the DNA.
The Indian Express writes, "Six days after thirteen protesters killed in Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu government orders permanent shutdown of Sterlite copper plant," while The Times of India says, "Tamil Nadu govt seals Sterlite unit after years of protests and 13 deaths," adding, "Order issued a day ahead of Assembly session."
Sunanda Pushkar's death is also given front page coverage by several news papers. Delhi government's draft policy that proposed radical cuts in hospitals bills is also a major story in news papers "Govt pill to kill hospital bill," writes The Mail Today. The DNA reports, "Delhi Government's draft policy targets profiteering by private hospitals," while the Times of India says,  "Draft policy seeks to cap hospital profits."
The Mail Today carries a heart - wrenching story on the impact of rising temperatures, "Heat - hit birds fall from skies in Delhi," adding that birds, especially their fledglings, are literally falling from the skies as temperatures shoot up to over 40 degrees celcius in the capital.
The DNA carries a picture of fishermen casting their nets on a Kerala beach, with the caption "Monsoon arrives in Kerala," bringing some cheer, as they are a harbinger of the good news for North India too, which is presently blazing under the scorching sun.
And finally, Amazon's voice controlled smart speakers, which answer to the name Alexa, will now answer 'deeper' metaphysical questions apart from answering your upcoming appointments. The Church of England has introduced an app for Alexa that would explain how church weddings work and even recite the Ten Commandments. "Alexa, who is God? A new app aims to win over agnostics," writes the Indian Express.
