The Supreme Court banning the sale of firecrackers in Delhi NCR till October 31st is a lead headline acros most papers today. "Supreme Court bursts a fire cracker - Delhi traders call it "black day" as ruling spurs protest" says the DNA while the Pioneer opines " Supreme Court misled into Dampening Diwali Spirits", adding that as the court bans sale of firecrackers till October 31, IIT study says pollution did not rise on Diwali or till 3 weeks later.
Most papers have carried the story of a US academic Richard Thaler, a behavioral Economics Guru who helped popularise the idea "Nudging" people toward doing what was best for them, winning the Nobel economics prize.
The Times of India writes that highly qualified and skilled Indians wanting to immigrate to the US could be in luck under new merit-based immigration reforms proposed by the Trump administration and relayed to the Congress yesterday.
In an interesting story, The Asian Age writes that alert Indian Peace Keepers repulsed an attack by a group of around 30 militia on Friday on its Lubero post in the troubled province of North Kivu in  Congo.
"Now, UP Mantri goes after the Taj", reports The Times of India. The paper writes that days after the row over the absence of Taj Mahal from a UP government booklet on tourism UP Minister LN Chaudhery has said that the Taj Mahal was rightly kept out and should instead be replaced with Guru Gorakhnath Peeth.
Are reading problems a sign of impaired hearing ? asks The Times of India. The paper says  that if your child has difficulty in reading, you may want to get them screened for hearing problems, as according to a new study, 25% of kids who suffer reading difficulties were found to have impaired hearing.
And finally, "Facebook comes to minor girls rescue," says The Hindu. The paper writes that a family court in Jodhpur annulled child marriage of a girl who was only 12 when her wedding was solemnised 7 years ago. The boys face - book account provided evidence that helped in proving that the marriage took place 2010, when both the boy and the girl were minors.
