IAF chief says India has power to strike Pakistan nukes, Islamabad says 'expect no restraint'

Prime Minister Modi strongly defending the government's management of the economy and pledging to reverse downturn in economic growth makes for front page news in most of the dailies this morning. Hindustan Times quoting PM Modi writes "Don't spread pessimism on economy. One quarter's reading means little, GDP will bounce back". "PM hits out at economic doomsayers" leads the Business Line.
Reserve Bank of India sharply revising downwards its growth projection is the other big story covered by the papers this morning. "RBI lowers GDP forecast to 6.7% from 7.3% says next quarters will be better" states The Times of India adding "Leaves key rates unchanged, warms against fiscal stimulus for economy".
"US warns Pakistan of isolation" informs Mail Today. While The Tribune quoting US writes "China's belt policy crosses disputed area".
Most of the papers take note of Rajnish Kumar becoming the new chairman of the State Bank of India (SBI), the country's biggest lender. He will take over from current chairman Arundhati Bhattacharya who will complete her four year term on Friday.
The DNA quotes the Congress party as saying "By end of October, you will not ask about Rahul's elevation". The Asian Age on another story writes "Rahul slams government on lack of jobs".
