Fuel prices set to crush cheer

Expect everything to cost more this festive season owing to increase in prices of turbine fuel, cooking gas, diesel and kerosene; says today's Hindustan Times under its front page headline, "Fuel prices set to crush cheer".

Syria has appealed to the UN to try to 'prevent any aggression' against it and said US military action would amount to "support for Al Qaida and its affiliates,'' even as President Barack Obama lobbied with war weary American Law-makers to convince them for a strike, reports the Statesman.

Birth certificate, passport, Aadhaar card - none of these may be enough to prove that you are an Indian citizen if you were born after July 1, 1987, writes the Times of India. The paper adds that Citizenship Laws say a person born in India after July 1, 1987 can not claim automatic citizenship unless at least one of the parents is an Indian.
