Most newspapers have prominently featured a picture of a triumphant Uddhav Thackeray after winning the trust vote on its front page. Peaceful completion of the first phase of Jharkhand polls has also found prominence in many dailies today.

According to an internal note of the finance ministry, "GST leads to Rs 320 monthly saving for household" reports Hindustan Times.

Business Standard says, "Day after GDP data, PM defends govt's record". The paper quotes the PM as saying that the first six months have been phenomenal and more measures would be taken for development.

The Times of India headlines, "Past wrongdoings resolved, no need for fear: Shah to India Inc". Mr Shah acknowledged the slowdown, but expressed confidence that the country would emerge from it, adds the paper.

The Hindu reports, "NE to be shielded from citizenship law impact". The paper says, Home minister Amit Shah has assured that new citizens will not be allowed to settle in the region.

There's good news for year end travellers. According to the Financial Express, Airfares on key domestic routes have so far not seen the usual spike for travel during Christmas and New Year.
