US isolated as India, other G20 members back Paris climate pact

The meeting between the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jingping on the sidelines of the G-20 summit Hamburg dominantes  the headlines of most news dailies today. "Xi shakes Modi's hand, Chinese media shows fist," declares The Pioneer. "Modi, Xi all smiles as border row simmers, "reports The Hindustan Times. In a related story The Hindu informs "Modi targets Pakistan at G-20- seeks deterrent action against nations using terror as a political tool".

The CBI raids on RJD leader Lalu Prasad and his family also find prominent coverage. "Train from the past derails Lalu and Yadav family", reports The Mail Today. "CBI zeroes in on Lalu, Kin-Will he, Won't he divorce RJD? All eyes on Nitish" speculates The Pioneer.

The Times of India reports on its front page that Supreme Court has stayed the ongoing counselling and admission process in IITs, NITs and IIITs besides government funded engineering colleges, questioning the validity of the decision towards 18 bonus marks to all students for wrong and vague questions in the joint entrance examination advanced paper. The courts decision comes even though 33,000 candidates have already taken admission so far this year.
In its lead story The Business Standard reports  "India Inc's investment growth hits 25-year low" adding that fresh investment by corporates are up by just 5.8 per cent in financial year 17, the lowest since 1992, the slowdown being the sharpest in private sector firms.
The Indian  Express reports that the Indian Institute of Science has received initial approval from the government to set up a rupees 3000 crore foundry to produce a "wonder" nano material.
A man with 150 pins embedded in his body underwent two sugeries last week at the Asian Institute of Medical Sciences in Faridabad to get 92 of them removed.
