The emerging post-poll scenario especially after exit poll predictions, the bull run at the Sensex, and the appointment of the next Army Chief are some of the stories covered prominently in papers today.

'Modi effect : Sensex breaks 24,000 mark; Pupee joins party', headlines the Tribune. In an intended pun, the Mail Today writes, 'Modi's biggest Rally Yet'. The Hindu says, 'New investors told to be wary of bull run'.

The Hindustan Times leads with, 'Congress chorus : Ra Ga not to blame', shielding Rahul from blame for a probable poor show in the poll results. The paper carries a photograph of outgoing Prime Minister Manmohan Singh with the caption, 'Farewells begin'. The Hindu writes, 'Emotional goodbye to Manmohan'.

The Tribune headlines, 'Govt. has its way, appoints Gen. Suhag as Army Chief'.

'In a first, collegium moots 2 lawyers as SC judges', reports The Times of India. The paper says that in an unprecedented decision, the collegium headed by the Chief Justice of India has recommended names of two previous Solicitors General - Gopal Subramaniam and RF Nariman, for appointment as judges of the Supreme Court. The Pioneer also covers this story.

The Indian Express highlights, '$ 8-bn hype balloon bursts : Govt. finds nothing against Hasan Ali'. The paper adds that in less than a week before it demits office, the UPA govt. has acknowledged that its tax evasion cases against the Pune-based stud farm owner and alleged hawala operator, 'may not be sustainable'.

The same paper carries a story on a kidney racket running on Facebook.

On a positive note, the Hindu reports, 'Delhi records coldest May day in a decade', with temperature dropping to 18 degrees, seven notches below normal, on Tuesday.

And finally, 'First double-Decker train chugs off to Guntur', reports the Hindu on its back page. As South Central Railway's first AC chair-car, double-decker super fast express left Kachiguda to Guntur, there were cheers all around, says the paper.
