Ahead Of Chandrayaan Take 2, ISRO's Track Record Inspires Confidence

NEWSPAPER HEADLINES

Most newspapers lead with a tribute to former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, who passed away yesterday.

The Indian Express headline describes her as  "CM who shaped new Delhi".

Many papers also feature a photograph of PM Modi paying his tributes to Sheila Dikshit the longest-serving woman CM, on their front page.

Another story that finds prominence in the papers  is the capture of the British tanker with 18 Indians on-board, by Iran. The Pioneer writes, "India in talks with Iran for Indian crew's release".

The Tribune quotes  the Defence Minister Rajnath Singh as saying, that the government was "for talks, but had many other means too", to resolve the Kashmir issue. In related news, the Hindustan Times reports that there were "fewer stone-pelting cases in Kashmir under central rule".

And finally, those who don't declare any taxable income, but splurge money on buying cars, homes and jewellery will now have to contend with a new weapon of the Income-tax authorities. Aadhar will now be used to track big-ticket transactions, reports the Hindustan Times.
