The untimely demise of veteran actor Sridevi, and China preparing the ground to give President Xi a limitless tenure, are the main stories in today's newspapers.
"Sadma strikes India: Sridevi leaves at just 54" is the Pioneer headline. The Hindustan Times leads with "India's heroine is no more" terming it as the 'end of an era'. The Hindu writes "Pan- India superstar takes last bow, fans heartbroken".
"China set for Xi in power indefinitely" is the lead in the Tribune. "China moves to let Xi  stay on as President; Ruling party to end 2-term limit for President" reports the DNA.
The Times of India notes on its front page "China's proposed 'ocean station' in Maldives worries India; Plan likely to include building Submarine Base".
"PNB scam accused may have got early warning in November" highlights The Indian Express, citing officials as saying Nirav Modi, Choksi planned exit after staff change at PNB in November.
"Yet another bank loan fraud surfaces; Top officials of UP sugar firm booked for defrauding Oriental Bank of Commerce of 200 crore rupees" is a front page focus in the Pioneer.
"No More Loot & Scoot, warns Modi Sarkar" is the lead in the Economic Times, quoting the PM and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley at the ET Global Business Summit.
"Modi Predicts BJP victory in Karnataka" ; says 'Compare dynasty's   rule with NDA's', reports the Asian Age.The paper also notes "Rahul picks panel of 43 for Karnataka elections".
And finally ,"ISRO working on 'igloos' for future outposts on moon" reports the Times of India, in what is likely to become India's biggest science programme in the next few years.
