A LOOK AT TODAY'S NEWSPAPERS HEADLINES:

The Prime Minister's speech in both houses of parliament  has  been reported in front page stories across papers today. "Modi strikes poll chord - slams, Congress gives history lesson; opposition calls it rally speech", headlines the Hindustan Times, while the Indian Express says " Don't lecture us after what you did to India; PM attacks Congress" adding " Rahul replies: disservice to spend so much time on Congress, so little on future."
The DNA writes that despite the RBI holding on to the rates at which it lends to banks, EMI's on home and auto loans are likely to go up. In a related story, the Times of India reports that there is relief for pre April 2016 borrowers where home loan rates have  not been revised- the RBI has directed banks to link the older rates to the current market linked benchmark.
"Supreme Court junks 88 Iron ore mining licenses in Goa for violations" headlines the DNA.
The Tribune writes that the Ministry of Defence has issued a rather unusual statement responding  to political allegations around the Rafale fighter jet deal, terming the allegations against the deal as unfounded.
"Trump wants military parade; will get one on Fourth of July" writes the Times of India, adding American democracy and military parades have never gone lockstep together in the country's history. That is set to change this coming Fourth of July, American Independence Day, when, on demand and at the orders of President Trump, the US military will march down Pennsylvania Avenue in a parade expected to surpass France's famed Bastille Day march.
