Well, the DNA reports that Scientists at the International Advanced Research Centre for Powder Metallurgy and New Materials (ARCI), Hyderabad have discovered that when coated with a layer of titanium dioxide, jeans can simply be hung out to dry in the sunlight and they will get cleaned through a process called photocatalysis. To boot, any germs the fabric might have contacted also get neutralised.
