The election results in the Municipal Corporations in Maharashtra dominate the headlines in  most newspapers today "BJP cuts Tiger's tail wins 8 of 10 Maharashtra corporations," reports The Times of India."BJP's civic sense prevails in Maharashtra" declares The Mail Today, while The Indian Express remarks "BJP and Fadnavis gain currency Congress and NCP demonitised".
 In a related election story headlined "Showing Democracy the Finger" The Mail Today reveals that a discreet investigation, by India Today T. V.  unearthed a ring of prosthetics suppliers who are selling silicone fingers to political parties trying to rig the Uttar Pradesh elections.
The Hindu reports "Hizb Ambush in Jammu and Kashmir leaves 3 soldiers, civilian dead."
 The violence at Delhi university has also received extensive coverage by the newspapers on their front  pages."Crime Branch takes over DU march violence probe," says The Hindustan Times.
The Hindustan times tells us that all Schools affiliated to the CBSE will now have to depute guards on School buses And fit the vehicles with closed circuit television cameras, GPS systems, sirens and grills on windows.
And finally, The Times of India reports that a NASA telescope has detected the first known system of seven Earth - size planets, around a single star. The exoplanet system, TRAPPIST- 1, is named for the Transiting Planets and Planetesimals Small Telescope (TRAPPIST) in Chile.
