A LOOK AT TODAY'S NEWSPAPERS HEADLINES:-
The most widely covered this morning are stories related to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's address to the nation on the new year eve as well as the feud in Samajwadi Party.
"Modi shares ‘note ban pain’, woos poor before state polls", says Asian Age while the Financial Express writes, "PM lines up new year gifts for poor, farmers, and SMEs". Under the headline, "PM makes note ban a class war, fights sobs with sops", the Times of India writes that the political messaging in the PM's New Year eve address presented demonetisation as intended to ensure taxes recovered from large suppressed incomes benefit the socially and economically vulnerable.
The Financial Express writes that Non-resident Indians and citizens who happened to be overseas at the time of demonetisation will be given till June 30 to exchange their notes.
"No confusion, no mistake, only Akhilesh, chant his supporters" reads a caption in the Times of India. "Akhilesh wins UP dangal, back in party" headlines the Asian Age while the Indian Express says, "Mulayam blinks, again: Akhilesh back in party". The Hindu says, "Mulayam revokes Akhilesh, Ramgopal expulsions" while Hindustan Times sums it up as "The banished son vowed victory for his father; the old guard relented. The Samajwadi Party’s feuding first family is united again, at least for anyone outside its inner circle".
The Times of India reports that a couple from Gujarat's tribal district Dahod has finally opted for a family planning operation after conceiving 17 children, which includes 16 daughters and a son.
You don't need a high IQ to be rich! The Times of India reports a study that says success depends more on personality traits.
