India reports biggest spike in 24 hrs, coronavirus cases cross 2,900

The Prime Minister's message to switch off lights and light diyas at 9 pm on Sunday, is carried on the front pages of most dailies.  In a box item, The Pioneer writes that opposition leaders have criticised the Prime Minister's speech, saying they expected him to announce a second financial package.  BJP Chief, J P Nadda is quoted in The Times of India as saying that the opposition is displaying their "ideoloical Bankruptcy".

India's cases hit 3,000; two die in Delhi, is the top story in Hindustan Times.

The Indian Express headline states, "Tablighi spread grows larger: 647 cases across 14 states".  A news item in The Pioneer reveals that nearly 9,000 people who attended the congregation have been traced across 14 states in India.

Hindustan Times quotes Central Pollution Control Board data that proves that the lockdown has left the Ganga cleaner.
