"Why is Kishan Reddy Saving KCR and KTR?": CM Revanth Alleges Secret Pact Between BJP and BRS
elangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has launched a direct attack on Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy, accusing him of actively protecting former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) and K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) from corruption charges.
Speaking at a public meeting in Nizamabad, the Chief Minister alleged a tacit understanding between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), questioning why central agencies have failed to act against the previous BRS regime despite glaring irregularities.
"Kalvakuntla Kishan Rao" Jibe In a sharp rebuke, CM Revanth Reddy remarked that the Union Minister has effectively transformed into "Kalvakuntla Kishan Rao," implying that his loyalties lie more with KCR’s family (the Kalvakuntlas) than with his own party or the people. He demanded to know why the BJP, which has frequently alleged corruption in the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project, has not taken concrete action.
"The state government handed the Kaleshwaram investigation over to the CBI. If the BJP is sincere about fighting corruption, why have KCR and KTR not been arrested yet?" Reddy asked, asserting that Kishan Reddy is the force shielding the BRS leadership from legal consequences.
Attacks on BJP and BRS Governance Expanding his critique to the development of Nizamabad, Reddy slammed the previous BRS administration for turning the district into a "slum" over its ten-year rule. He challenged the opposition to compare the enduring quality of irrigation projects built by the Congress decades ago against the crumbling infrastructure of recent BRS projects.
He also targeted local BJP MP Dharmapuri Arvind, questioning his contribution to the constituency despite being elected twice. "If BJP leaders truly have influence with Prime Minister Modi, why haven't they managed to get Nizamabad declared a 'Smart City' or brought significant central funds to the state?" the CM asked.
Focus on Farmers and Future Shifting focus to local welfare, the Chief Minister praised the resilience of Nizamabad’s farmers, stating that the region's agricultural practices are a model for the country. He lauded the high value of local produce, noting that "Nizamabad turmeric competes with gold."
Promising to fast-track pending infrastructure projects in the district with suggestions from Mahesh Goud, Reddy expressed confidence in the Congress party’s future. He predicted victory in the upcoming municipal elections and vowed to retain power in the 2028 general elections.
Concluding his address, CM Revanth Reddy reiterated his commitment to secular governance, declaring, "I belong to everyone... I have no caste or religion."
