"Show Me the Houses": Revanth Dares BRS, Alleges Secret Pact Between KCR and BJP
Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy turned up the heat on the opposition Sunday, delivering a blistering critique of the BRS-BJP dynamic while effectively launching his party’s municipal election campaign with a massive development pledge for the region.
In a fiery address, the Chief Minister drew a sharp line between the Congress’s welfare history and the previous administration's track record. He issued a direct challenge to the BRS leadership: if they could find villages where their promised "Double Bedroom" houses were actually delivered, only then should they ask for votes.
"Farmhouses for Them, Neglect for You"
Reddy did not mince words regarding the previous KCR regime. He alleged that while the KCR family—specifically naming KTR, Harish Rao, and Kavitha—were busy acquiring farmhouses, the state’s poor were left behind.
"I challenge the BRS," Reddy thundered. "I ask for votes in villages where Congress delivered Indiramma houses. Do you have the guts to ask for votes only where you delivered Double Bedroom homes?"
He contrasted this with Congress’s legacy, citing the construction of 20 lakh Indiramma houses between 2004 and 2014, and announced that Phase II of the scheme would roll out immediately after April.
The "Kalvakuntla Kishan Rao" Jibe
Turning his guns on the BJP, the Chief Minister alleged a covert nexus between the saffron party and the BRS. He accused Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy of shielding BRS leaders from scrutiny, dubbing him "Kalvakuntla Kishan Rao."
Reddy specifically questioned why central agencies were used to harass Rahul Gandhi while BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) remained untouched in the "Formula-E car race case," insinuating that the local BJP leadership was actively preventing the arrest of KCR and KTR.
Development Blitz: ₹17,000 Crore & Counting
Beyond the political rhetoric, the CM laid out a concrete financial roadmap for the region, acknowledging Warangal's pivotal role in the Telangana movement.
₹6,016 Crore: Allocated specifically for municipalities in the unified Warangal district.
₹17,442 Crore: Total funds released to municipalities over the last two years.
He also moved swiftly to crush rumors regarding the administrative future of the region. "Propaganda," Reddy declared, referring to claims that the Congress government plans to abolish the Bhupalpally district. He assured the public that any reorganization would happen only after public consultation, and questioned KTR's contributions to Bhupalpally during his tenure as Municipal Minister.
Welfare & The "Marriage" Analogy
Urging voters to look past national figures like PM Modi—who he noted has never visited Bhupalpally—Reddy used a colorful marriage analogy to emphasize the importance of local leadership.
"Do you arrange a marriage by looking at the groom, or by looking at the wedding elder?" he asked, urging the electorate to back local candidates who would remain accessible.
Key Promises Made:
Singareni Workers: Assured protection of rights and warned against "spewing poison" regarding Medical Board issues.
Tourism Circuit: Pledged to develop a tourism corridor from Basara to Bhadrachalam, including forest resorts.
The Chief Minister concluded by emphasizing that the flow of development funds relies on the cooperation of local MLAs, urging a decisive vote for Congress candidates in the upcoming municipal polls.
