Current affairs for KBC

Maoist central committee member Mallojula Venugopal, also known as Bhupathi, Sonu, and Abhay, has reportedly resigned from the Communist Party of India (Maoist), marking the end of his decades-long involvement in the armed movement. His resignation letter, in which he described the Maoist path as “completely wrong,” has exposed deep ideological rifts within the party and is seen as a major setback to the group’s leadership and morale.

Hans Christian Andersen was a renowned Danish author born on April 2, 1805, in Odense, Denmark. He rose from a poor background to become one of the most famous writers of literary fairy tales. Andersen is best known for timeless stories such as "The Ugly Duckling," "The Little Mermaid," "The Emperor's New Clothes," and "The Princess and the Pea." His works often featured ordinary characters, drawing on his own life experiences and conveying moral lessons in a simple yet imaginative style.

In addition to fairy tales, Andersen was a prolific writer of plays, novels, poems, and travelogues. He struggled initially to establish himself, attempting careers in acting and singing before finding success in literature, supported by patrons like Jonas Collin. Andersen traveled extensively across Europe and gained international fame during his lifetime. He died on August 4, 1875, in Copenhagen but left a lasting legacy as a pioneer of the modern fairy tale genre.
