In October 2025, Google announced a $15 billion investment to establish a major artificial intelligence hub in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh — featuring gigawatt-scale computing infrastructure, subsea cable links, and a data center campus — expected to create around 36,000 jobs and make the city a key AI growth center in India.

India’s space agency ISRO, led by chairman V Narayanan, has set a target to land Indians on the Moon by 2040. This ambitious goal was guided by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s directive to conduct an indigenous crewed lunar mission that safely lands and returns astronauts. ISRO’s maiden human spaceflight mission, ‘Gaganyaan,’ is on track for launch in early 2027, preceded by three uncrewed missions including the December 2025 launch of the half-humanoid robot ‘Vyommitra.’ The agency also plans to establish a national space station by 2035, with initial modules expected as early as 2027. Alongside these, projects like Chandrayaan-4, Chandrayaan-5, a new Mars mission, and the Venus Orbiter Mission are in the pipeline. These efforts reflect India’s expanding space ecosystem with over 300 private startups now active in satellite manufacturing, launch services, and space analytics, fostering a self-reliant space program charting major milestones by 2040.
