The newspapers are abuzz with the news about the government's nod to death penalty for rape convicts in the backdrop of nation's outrage over recent rape cases of Kathua and Unnao. Another big story in papers today is about Yashwant Sinha quitting the BJP, while the dailies also give prominence to The Fugitive Economic Offenders Ordinance to tighten the noose around economic offenders and escapees.

"BE ALERT!" the message is loud and clear after the government approved the promulgation of the Fugitive Economic Offernders Ordinance 2018, which would empower government to confiscate and attach properties and assets of economic offenders.
