In Andhra Pradesh, amidst tight security arrangements, large number of employees from Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema regions are reaching Hyderabad to attend the "Save Andhra Pradesh meeting" even as Telangana Bandh continues peacefully so far.

Meanwhile, normal life in Telangana region has been hit due to the bandh called by Telangana Joint Action Committee protesting against Government’s alleged anti-Telangana stand.:

Hyderabad is virtually under police siege as tight security arrangements have been made in the wake of the Save Andhra Pradesh meeting being held by NGOs later this afternoon even as the day-long Telangana bandh is being observed. Amidst unprecedented security arrangements, thousands of employees from Raylaseema and Coastal Andhra regions have arrived to take part in the meeting. This is the first major demonstration in the state capital by the NGOs who are leading the agitation for united Andhra for the past 40 days. Meanwhile, bandh is underway across Telangana region following the call given by the Telangana Joint Action Committee protesting against the meeting being held in support to the United Andhra in Hyderabad . Some pro-Telangana groups have even warned that the meeting will be scuttled. Meanwhile, normal life has been severely hit due to the bandh being observed across the region. Stray incidents of stone pelting reported from different places. Educational Institutions and business entities have been closed down. Commuters are facing hardships with the road transport corporation buses remained off the roads while the south central railways cancelled the local trains

Defence Minister A K Antony has effectively dismissed media reports citing an NSAB report that China has grabbed 640 sq km of Indian territory. Asian Age says China is afraid of India catching up with it  by developing its infrastructure and deploying additional troops at the Indo-China border.
