No relief for convicted Netas

"No relief for convicted Neta's, SC refuses to review order", writes the Hindustan Times in a front page story. According to the paper the Supreme Court has refused to revisit its order, that disqualifies a law maker from being a member of the house, if he is sentenced to two or more years in jail for a serious criminal offence. The Tribune adds however, that the court agreed to reconsider the ban on jailed Neta's contesting elections.

Most papers headline the entry of the New Governor of the Reserve Bank Raghuram Rajan, saying that he begins his term with a bold reformist vision; promising to preserve the value of the rupee. Air fares shoot up 25 per cent driven by the rapidly weakening rupee and the rise in operating costs adds the Economic Times. High air fares come as a Diwali dampner. The Hindu writes about the United Nations inter governmental panel report that now says, that the earth is warming up, but not as rapidly as predicted. The level of urgency and seriousness of the issues, are therefore being revisited by Scientists and policy makers.

And finally, Sleep boosts brain cell numbers writes the Asian Age. According to the paper, sleep replenishes a certain type of brain cell that improves the organs response to injuries. The Study was conducted by Scientists in Washington.
