Q1 GDP growth hits 3-year low of 5.7%, slowest under Modi government

The Reserve Bank of India's annual report for 2016-17 claiming that 99 percent of banned notes are back with it makes for front page news in most of the dailies this morning. The Financial Express quotes RBI as saying "Almost all banned notes back". The report further says that 15.28 lakh crore of notes came in versus 15.44 lakh crore rupees in the system before demonetisation.
Referring to the announcement of an extensive army overhaul, Hindustan Times writes "Nod to military reforms: More troops for combat". The paper informs that 65 of Shekatkar panel suggestions to be implemented: changes to be carried out by 2019-end.
Most of the papers take note of the Union Cabinet approving an ordinance enabling the government to raise the goods and services tax (GST) cess on medium to large cars and SUVs to 25% from 15%.
The Asian Age quoting the centre informs that "Aadhar linking deadline to be December 31." Also the same deadline for linking bank accounts" states The Hindu.
"OBC creamy layer criteria extended to PSUs" notes The Statesman. "OBC quota benefit now in PSUs, PSBs too" writes The Tribune.
Writing on the Utkal Express derailment The Pioneer says "13 Railway employees sacked for Utkal Express mishap".
The Hindu quoting outgoing home secretary Rajiv Mehrishi writes "Chinese telecom products vulnerable. Red flags raised over hacking."
On the Mumbai rain The Times of India leads "Day after deluge, horror stories surface from battered Mumbai.
