Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh's comments on the Rohingya issue are prominently covered on the front pages. While the Hindu quotes the Minister as saying "Rohingya are illegal immigrants" the Tribune reports the Minister as saying "Rohingya will be deported". In a story captioned "Centre, NHRC on opposite sides of refugee question, the Indian Express reports the Chairman of the National Human Rights Commission retired Justice HL Dattu as saying that the Rohingya's cause will be taken up on humanitarian grounds.
The Calcutta High Court overruling a West Bengal government order banning immersion of durga idols on Muharram is widely reported in the press. The Hindustan Times writes "Seback to Mamata as HC lifts ban on idol immersion".
The press keenly tracks Congress President Sonia Gandhi's letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the Women's Reservation Bill. The Times of India quotes her as writing "Use majority in Lok Sabha to pass women's bill". The Asian Age higlights the response of the BJP as it quotes the party as saying "Why didnt she ask her allies like Lalu?
The meeting between Tamil movie superstar Kamal Hassan and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is keenly noticed by the press.
Information given by Iqbal Kaskar, the brother of India's most wanted mafia don Dawood Ibrahim, is highlighted in almost all the papers. The Times of India in its front page lead writes "Dawood's brother says he's in Pak, lists 4-5 addresses".
The DNA reports on the first right to Privacy case filed in the country after the Supreme Court recently ruled that  right to privacy is a fundamental right. The paper reports that the case has been filed in the Delhi High Court by an advocate against two firms for allegedly using his personal information for direct marketing purposes.
