The DNA on its front page reports that RSS leader Rakesh Mishra was shot dead in Uttar Pradesh's Gazipur. Local journalist for a national Hindi daily, 35 years old Rajesh Mishra, succumbed to bullet wounds on Saturday morning after four motorcycle borne miscreants opened fire.
The Hindustan Times reports that the Reserve Bank of India, RBI on Saturday clarified that linking one's bank account with Aadhaar number is mandatory under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act. The Sunday Times adds that a fresh challenge has been posed to Aadhaar, in the Supreme Court, questioning the Constitutional validity of the Reserve Bank of India's decision to make its linkage with bank accounts mandatory.

Most newspapers today have keenly tracked the pollution levels in Delhi-NCR a day after Diwali, post the ban imposed on the sale of firecrackers by the Supreme Court. "City cheats ban but pollution a bit less" headlines the Mail Today. "Delhi did its best but it wasn't enough, air still turned toxic" reads The Times of India's top headline.
The Hindu has front paged another story which says "Most pollution-linked deaths occur in India". Quoting an international commission's report, the paper says that out of 9 million premature deaths linked to pollution worldwide, a staggering 2.5 million deaths were reported from India in 2015.

The Hindustan Times in its story captioned "5 pesticides that killed Maharashtra farmers may be banned for a month" writes that after reports of more than 30 farmers dying of pesticide poisoning in Yavatmal and some other districts of the state the government is considering banning the pesticides in five Vidarbha districts.
The Indian Express carries an exclusive interview with the Director General of Police of Jammu and Kashmir S P Vaid. The paper quotes him as saying "At least 160 militants killed this year, Kashmir needs political initiative".
