The death of Gopinath Munde in a car crash in Delhi is splashed across the front pages of most papers. 'Man who could've been Maharashtra CM dead', is the Times of India headline. 'Collision of cars triggers minister's fatal heart attack' says the Pioneer, 'State funeral today at Beed', writes the Asian Age. Almost all the dailies show PM Narendra Modi and BJP leaders paying respects to his mortal remains at the BJP headquarters in Delhi.
The Reserve Bank keeping key rates unchanged is the next big story. "Rajan says he may not raise rates anymore" is the Economic Times headline. 'RBI says room to trim rates if inflation eases after tweaking for base effect' writes the Financial Express.
'Rahul comes under fresh fire after Kharge is asked to lead opposition in House', writes Mail Today, under the heading 'Dissent RaGa grows louder'.
Delhi University admissions have got adequate coverage in the Hindu. The paper writes 'At north campus there were orderly lines, tents erected for shade and also drinking water', as submission of filled up application forms began.
'Delhi's air quality worsening, says a TERI survey' says the Hindu on its front page.
Celebrations at the Eden Garden in Kolkata to welcome the IPL 7 champions turning chaotic, finds front page coverage in the Asian Age and Mail Today. 'KKR party turns riot' reports the Hindustan Times.
There is good news for diabetics! The Asian Age and the Times of India report that Metformin, the world's most widely used anti diabetic drug may slow ageing and increase life span.
And finally, 'Tiny wooden beads put Hisar village on global map', writes the Tribune, of people of Mangali village here, who make them. Apparently, the beads are much in demand internationally.
