'In UP, Modi plays up caste', headlines the Hindu, while the Hindustan Times says, 'Modi bares caste card before polls in Amethi, heartland'.

'Woman moves Supreme Court against snoop probe', says the Tribune.

'All officials equal, probe needs no government nod', is the Indian Express headline, saying CBI now free to investigate joint secretary, higher ranking officials.

'Now even aided minority schools to give RTE a miss', say the Pioneer, pointing out that earlier the apex court had exempted only unaided institutions from 25 percent quota for the poor.

The Hindu reports of four fold rise in bad loans quoting a bank Union amounting to Rs. 70,300 crore.
