Beginning the new year on an optimistic note most newspapers have headlined their front pages with the promising news of the clearance of the Covishield vaccine for India. "Happy Vaccine Year", exults Hindustan Times. "Happy New Year: Expert Panel clears Oxford vaccine for India", reports The Times of India. The Economic Times reports" New Year, New hope: SEC Okays SII Vaccine".

The economic recovery gaining ground has also been highlighted prominently by the newspapers. The Business Standard reports, "GST mop-up at record High-surges to rupees 1.5 trillion in December".
