Credit and Credibility - New York Times: There was a group of independent analysts that should have been in a position to blow the whistle early about Enron's true condition: Moody's Investors Service, Standard & Poor's and Fitch Ratings. Through their evaluation of a company's creditworthiness, the Big Three rating agencies provide investors with an important assessment of its financial health. In this case, their judgments were too little, too late.
