ISRO will launch India's heaviest and most advanced satellite for naval operations—CMS-03/GSAT-7R—on November 2, 2025, from Sriharikota. Weighing about 4,400 kg, this indigenously developed satellite will significantly enhance secure communications and maritime surveillance capabilities for the Indian Navy across the Indian Ocean region. The powerful LVM3 “Bahubali” rocket will carry the satellite to geosynchronous orbit; the launch is scheduled for 5:26 pm IST.

The ISRO LVM3-M5/CMS-03 mission successfully launched on November 2, 2025. The CMS-03 satellite was separated successfully with perfect injection into orbit. CMS-03, weighing about 4,410 kg, is India's heaviest communication satellite to date launched to a Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit (GTO) from Indian soil. It is a multi-band military communication satellite designed to provide reliable telecommunication coverage over India and its surrounding oceanic region.

The launch vehicle, LVM3 (Launch Vehicle Mark-3), also known as the "Bahubali Rocket," is ISRO's most powerful launcher. LVM3-M5 was the fifth operational flight of this vehicle. Because CMS-03 is heavier than LVM3's usual GTO capacity, the satellite was first placed into a sub-GTO by the rocket, and then CMS-03 used its onboard Liquid Apogee Motor (LAM) in multiple firings over several days to achieve precise geostationary orbit insertion.

CMS-03's capabilities include broad frequency support across UHF, S, C, and Ku bands, upgraded encryption, and high-throughput transponders, aimed at enhancing naval communication and network-centric operations. It supports India's blue-water naval ambitions, improves maritime situational awareness, and enables secure real-time connectivity even in remote ocean zones.

In summary, the mission achieved a perfect satellite injection, marking a significant milestone for ISRO in communication satellite technology and strategic naval communication infrastructure.

The federal government’s food-stamp program that covers about 42 million people is known as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP. It is commonly referred to as food stamps and provides crucial food assistance to low-income families in the United States. SNAP distributes benefits that help with grocery spending and supports approximately one in every eight Americans. The program is facing funding expiration if the government shutdown continues.

Hurricane Melissa, one of the most powerful Atlantic hurricanes on record, made its first landfall in Jamaica on October 28, 2025. It struck near New Hope, Westmoreland, Jamaica, as a Category 5 storm with sustained winds of 185 mph, marking it as the strongest hurricane ever recorded to hit Jamaica. After crossing Jamaica, Melissa made a subsequent landfall in Cuba as a Category 3 hurricane.

Russia tested a new nuclear-powered weapon called Poseidon, an autonomous underwater drone torpedo designed to deliver both conventional and nuclear warheads. The primary purpose of Poseidon is to serve as a second-strike retaliatory weapon capable of bypassing missile defense systems and devastating coastal regions by triggering massive radioactive tsunamis. It is intended to destroy critical coastal infrastructure, such as naval bases and ports and can contaminate large areas with radiation, potentially rendering them uninhabitable for decades. The weapon's immense power and stealth capabilities make it a strategic deterrent meant to ensure retaliation capability in case of a nuclear attack.
