Indian Express headline says, "PM: Don't create false despondency" and the Times of India writes Mr. Modi said the country faces a choice between `vikaswad' (development) and `virodhwad' (obstructionism) and the people are well placed to make the right choice.

    The Times of India reports the CBSE class 10 results are out with girls again outperforming boys. Hindustan Times says the passing percentage came down from 97.32% last year to 96.21% this year.

    "Will bring back Pandits with dignity: Mehbooba" - under that headline, the Sunday Tribune says J&K Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has vowed to bring back Kashmiri Pandits with dignity to transit accommodation in the valley.

    The killing of a Congolese student in Delhi on Friday has had worrying repercussions. "Mobs in Congo react to lynching in Delhi, 7 Indians hurt in violence" states the Pioneer.

    The deportation issue of Vijay Mallya also gets prominently noticed by the press. "Getting Mallya just got tougher" states Hindustan Times. The Pioneer quotes United Kingdom as telling India that "Can't deport but can extradite Mallya, realize gravity of charges, keen to assist you".
    "Supreme Court pulls up Centre, States for failing to tackle drought" leads the Hindu, adding "Finds 'lack of will' to save people, driving them to suicide, starvation". "Supreme Court raps Centre, States on drought" writes the Asian Age.

    Reffering to the Agusta-Westland deal the Economic Times writes "Sleuths Dismiss Christian Michel's claims". The paper writes that the middle man is seen as key in swinging contract. The Mail Today quotes Michel as saying "Tyagi a front in bigger picture".
    The Asian Age reports that Queen Elezabeth II was caught on camera describing some Chinese officials as 'very rude' in a rare diplomatic goof up by the long serving British monarch.

    The Agusta row continues to dominate headlines in almost all the major dailies this morning. "Parrikar invokes Bofors, Congress fires 'illusion' barb." leads Hindustan Times. "On board Agusta, government aims a Bofors.", states The Indian Express. The Times of India quotes Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar as saying, "Agusta won't be Bofors, we'll nail the bribe-takers."

    The latest on the Uttarakhand crisis is also prominently noticed by the papers. "Uttarakhand floor test on May 10th, Supreme Court to monitor.", informs The Tribune.

    On the Bombay High Court order on beef, The Times of India writes "High Court state can't dictate citizen's 'choice of food', decriminalises beef." "Bombay High Court decriminalises possession of beef with  a rider ", writes The Statesman.

    Referring to the Prime Minister's speech in Hosur in Western Tamil Nadu the Asian Age writes "PM adopts Italian strategy." "Modi takes 'Italy Link' swipe at Congress", states The Pioneer, adding that "PM says those found guilty in Agusta scam won't be spared."

    Most of the papers carry reports and photographs of the Sonia Gandhi and Manmohan Singh led Congress's 'save democracy march' against the NDA government from Jantar Mantar  to Parliament.

    The 63rd National Film Awards function is also covered prominently with reports and photographs in all the news papers this morning.
    Writing on the review of the Pathankot terror attacks by a Parliamentary panel, Hindustan Times writes "House panel finds security readiness 'seriously' flawed". The paper writes "Parliamentary committee wants to know why probe team from Pakistan was allowed into airbase".

The paper says 'Black Carbon, from the smog and ash are covering the glaciers, thereby making them prone to melting.     Vijay Mallya wanted in loan default cases  worth 9000 crore rupees sending resignation letter as an MP to Rajya-Sabha Chairman Hamid Ansari - to pre-empt an expulsion order, is extensively covered.

    We have varying stories of 'helicopters' highlighted in the Press this morning. First, helicopters giving a helping hand in the raging Uttarakhand forest fires, and the ongoing CBI questioning in the Agusta Westland Helicopter Deal. The Asian Age carries a perfect picture of a helicopter lifting water from the Koteshwar dam to douse the Uttarakhand forest fires. Regarding the Agusta Westland Helicopter deal, The Pioneer quotes Defence Minister Manohar Parikar - "Will place facts in House to prove Augsta scam". 
    The Indian Express writes that a compliant, written anonymously, has put a question mark on the integrity of some of the cases of the Supreme Court - monitored investigation  by the CBI in the Coal Scam. The letter, listing 24 specific cases, states that 'huge amounts of money have exchanged hands and that corrupt CBI officers are contaminating some probes.
    Mail Today informs us that Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagship scheme 'Start Up India', meant to boost digital entrepreneurship at the grass roots level, has received a huge response from budding entrepreneurs - already receiving over 200 registrations.
    The Hindu writes, Members of a local community in Bengaluru have launched a campaign to rejuvenate Kundalahalli Lake near Whitefield. Officials have deployed a time tested battle strategy to stop waste from entering the city lake by cutting a deep trench around it, to block all entry points for trucks wanting to dump waste near the lake.
    "Bankrupts may be barred from contesting elections", is the top headline in The Times of India. The paper reports that a Joint Committee of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Bill has recommended several disqualifications from being elected to any public office. Seeking disqualification of liquor baron Vijay Mallya, the new law may soon automatically disqualify a bankrupt person from becoming a law maker.

The Supreme Court order banning non CNG cabs from Delhi roads has raised concern over the saftey of Women who work on late shifts and depend on company provided drop facilities as well as the lively hood of hundreds of small time taxi operators.

    Only CNG cabs in Delhi from today is the lead in most papers today. "Supreme Court hits the brakes, diesel cabs off Delhi-NCR roads from today, headlines the Hindustan Times. The Times of India leads "SC drives out non-CNG cabs, two lakh commuters may be hit".

    The Times of India notes, the woes of business tycoon Vijay Mallya are mounting, as his payout deal with Diageo, worth 75 million dollars, for stepping down as chairman of United spirits, earlier this year, comes under the scanner of the Enforcement Directorate.

    "Re-examine law, increase jail term for money laundering, says Supreme Court Judge", reports the Indian Express on its front page.

    The Agusta-Westland deal continues to receive attention. "Congress-BJP exchange fresh fire in VVIP chopper row", reports the Hindustan Times. The Statesman leads with "Congress trashes govt's claims on chopper deal".

    The forest fires in Uttarakhand are covered prominently on front pages.  "Trees burn, animals die in UP,  Uttarakhand fires" states the Pioneer.  The Hindu says "Uttarakhand blaze, a man-made disaster."

    "Cheer for home-owners as realty law comes into force today", for timely completion of projects and bringing transparency in the real estate sector, reports the Times of India.

    "This summer break, it's back to school for some", as the Centre plans remedial classes over the summer vacation and weekends for poorly performing students, reports the Hindustan Times in its Sunday Special.

    Times of India carries a story on water ideas, from an award-winning Marathwada village that has water ATMs, to another in Rajasthan that revived a traditional water harvesting system.

    Stories around the Agusta Westland chopper scam case continue to hover this morning on the front pages of most prominent newspapers. "Middleman Michel claims he signed nothing, records show he did - on payoffs" reads an Indian Express headline. A caption in The Statesman says "Government rubbishes charge of PM striking deal with Italy".
    The Asian Age, as well as most dailies, has covered on their front pages, the Bombay High Court ruling directing the Union Environment Ministry to demolish the 31-storey scam-tainted Adarsh housing society building in Mumbai. "HC stuns all, says demolish 31-storey Adarsh 'forthwith', says The Times of India.
    The Hindu says seven children with special needs and four other inmates of a government-run home near Jaipur have died in the last 10 days, allegedly after consuming contaminated food or water.
    In a move that is sure to bring cheer to millions of Indians, the Centre has rolled back a move to slash the Employees' Provident Fund (EPF) interest rate to 8.7% from 8.8% as recommended by the Central Board of Trustees, the EPF Organisation's apex decision making body, writes Hindustan Times.
    And finally,"Eat chocolate, keep diabetes away" - Now doesn't that sound like music to your ears? The Times of India quotes research findings  published in the British Journal of Nutrition Consumption that a small amount of chocolate each day may help prevent diabetes and insulin resistance and improve liver enzymes.
