    Prime Minister Modi's address to Indian Diaspora at the Madison Square Garden, Paneerselvam to be the next Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu,  and President's rule imposed in Maharashtra are some of the stories that find prominence in today's newspapers.
    Prime Minister Narendra Modi rocking the Madison Square Garden is the story splashed across the front pages of all the papers today. "Modi rocks the Big Apple, Madison Square Garden is enthralled by rockstar PM, as he extends helping hand and outlines his dream for India" is the headline in the Mail Today. The Economic Times writes 'Rockstar Modi sings all the high notes in New York, merger of Person of Indian Origin (PIO) and Overseas Citizenship of India (OCI) schemes among steps unveiled by PM in electric speech.
    Most of the papers haver reported about Paneerselvam set to become the chief minister of Tamil Nadu for a second time in their front pages. His swearing-in to take place today. The papers have also reported that Jayalalithaa will move the High Court for bail today.
    Two weeks ahead of the elections to the Maharashtra Assembly, President's rule has been imposed in the state. President Pranab Mukharjee signed the proclamation for imposition of central rule in Maharashtra on Sunday, reports the Hindu Business Line.
    'Spectrum Judge Dattu is new Chief Justice of India' headlines the Hindustan Times. The paper adds that Justice HL Dattu was sworn in  as the 42nd Chief Justice of India and his tenure will last for 14 months.
    "Pak climbs down to admit our Hurriyat invite was bad timing" writes the Indian Express adding that for the first time Pakistan has admitted that the timing of its High Commissioners meeting with Hurriyat leaders in New Delhi, ahead of foreign secretary level talks in August was 'perhaps not totally right'.

While the Indian Express, Financial Express and the Asian Age show Narendra Modi paying tribute at ground zero at the 9/11 memorial, most dailies show him addressing the UN General Assembly.  'Pakistan must remove shadow of terror for talks, says Modi at UN' is the Tribune headline.  'At UN, PM hits out at Sharif, offers talks' says the Statesman.
The Asian Age, Hindu, Tribune and the Statesman report of the union cabinet recommending the imposition of President's rule in Maharashtra, following the CM's resignation, in the poll bound state.
In a Hindustan Times special, under the headline 'Government wants Aam Aadmi to offer policy inputs', the paper writes, that the PM has invited ideas and talking points from people, for his debut programme on All India Radio, to be aired on the 3rd of October.
And finally, the Tribune has a picture of the Indian squash team at Incheon with their gold medal.  The paper also gives India's medal tally with 2 gold, 3 silver and 6 bronze.

Hours before leaving for the US PM Narendra Modi launched his latest marketing push to hard-sell India as a global manufacturing hub on Thursday - in the presence of hundreds of global  and Indian Business  leaders, diplomats  and ministers, writes the Indian Express. Hindustan Times writes PM Modi unveiled the Make -in - India campaign to turn India into a Manufacturing powerhouse and vowed to remove bureaucratic sloth.
Business Standard reports that the shares of power and metal companies tumbled on Thursday in concerns that the Supreme Courts order to cancel all but four coal block allocation since 1993 would hurt profitability and raise a question mark on  business prospects.

A story in the Sunday Times front page says - In a major gain for Indian authorities trying to recover Black Money stashed away abroad, G-20 members, will today, agree to a deal that will mandate automatic sharing of all bank information with tax authorities on an annual basis, beginning 2017.

"Chinese troops in face off with Indian Army at three places" writes the Mail Today, under the headline "Miles in Gujarat, Inches in Ladakh".

    "Shah shrugs off loss, says rivals have grown wings" states the Hindustan Times, of the BJP party president brushing aside the setback to the BJP in the bypolls. "Did BJP pay a price for sidelining Varun, Uma?" asks the Asian Age. The Times of India writes "Varun Lao, UP bachao, says Maneka, though in half-jest".

    In a shocking revelation, the Pioneer quotes former Comptroller and Auditor General Vinod Rai as saying "UPA unleashed CBI to 'break me" dragging him into a preliminary inquiry to put pressure on him.

 "By polls Spoil BJP heartland romance", writes Mail Today, with the BJP winning only a disappointing 12 of the 32 Assembly seats across a state, the Congress 9, and the Samajwadi Party 8. The only consolation for the BJP was its elections debut in West Bengal, where it won one of the two seats.

    Hindustan Times reports that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will unveil his signature ‘Make in India’ initiative tomorrow with a raft of proposals designed to get foreign companies to set up shop and make the country a manufacturing powerhouse. The paper adds that Modi will announce the plan at an event in Vigyan Bhawan that will be beamed live not just across the country but to gatherings of industrialists across the world.

    In a bid to create uniformity among central universities, the HRD ministry has decided to frame guidelines for common admission, common curriculum, student and faculty mobility as well as a national system of credit transfers. It has also been decided to evolve a national ranking system for central universities, reports The Times of India.

    A Centre for Science and Environment analysis has showed the floods in Jammu & Kashmir were a manifestation of an extreme weather event linked to climate change resulting from a combination of unprecedented and intense rain, mismanagement, unplanned urbanisation and a lack of preparedness says The Hindu.

    Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray has expressed his desire to occupy the chief minister’s post in Maharashtra, which is going to polls on October 15. “I don’t day-dream or hanker for power.
