Mohamed Elbaradei News - The New York Times

Mohamed Elbaradei News - The New York Times: "Mohamed ElBaradei, an Egyptian-born lawyer, headed the International Atomic Energy Agency for 12 years, winning the Nobel Peace Prize in 2005. He stepped down in 2009 and announced plans to challenge President Hosni Mubarak of Egypt in the 2011 elections. Mr. ElBaradei initially drew little support and left the country. But when mass protests broke out in January 2011, he returned and soon was regarded as the closest thing to a leader the popular uprising had."
